Library
The Peach Public Library system is committed to promoting knowledge, understanding, and wisdom, and combating ignorance, intolerance, and indifference by making the best possible library resources, personnel, and facilities available. Services include collections of books, audio-visual materials, electronic services and a workforce of trained librarians and staff.
Peach County operates libraries in Fort Valley and Byron and both have computers available for public use. The Thomas Public Library houses materials and memorabilia of local interest and local genealogy. Meeting rooms for public use are available at no charge at both the Thomas Public Library and the Byron Public Library. Voter registration forms are available at the circulation desk and both branches offer a public fax and copier.
With its participation in the Georgia Library PINES program, the Peach Public libraries serve not only the residents of Peach County, but also library users of 44 other participating library systems across the state. PINES lets library users check out and return books at any public library in Georgia, providing access to more than 7.5 million books, free of charge.
